The McCord Museum is the museum of all Montrealers, a social history museum that celebrates life in Montreal,

both past and present—its history, its people, and its communities.

perspective on history, engaging visitors from Montreal, Canada and beyond.

It is home to over 1.5 million artefacts

that make up one of the largest historical collections in North America, comprising Dress, Fashion and Textiles,

Photography, Indigenous Cultures, Documentary Art, Material Culture, and Archives.

Under the supervision of the Director, Marketing, Communications and Visitor Experience, and with the support of the team, the

incumbent is responsible for the customer development (school, tourism, corporate and young professionals, Members, etc.) in

terms of goodwill and revenue.

In addition, he coordinates the visitor experience component of the Museum.

The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

Customer development and subscriptions

Plan and ensure, with the help of their team, the development of clienteles in the business, educational, tourism,

cultural, cultural and heritage communities, as well as Museum memberships;

Lead client development projects;

Overseeing their team ( 3 persons) , supplemented by temporary staff, ensuring operational effectiveness and well-


Ensure the planification of direct marketing strategies or other targeted communication strategies to reach the

aforementioned groups and supervise their elaboration;

Participate in determining departmental monthly and annual revenue objectives and ensure their achievement;

Ensure that the Museum's database is enhanced, analyzed and used to its full potential and according to best


Monitor future trends in client development;

Guarantee full client satisfaction and ensure that best practices in customer management are applied;

Represent the Museum in a professional capacity;

Visitor Experience

Evaluate, measure and analyse the visitor experience under all its aspects (pre-visit, during the visit, after the visit)

in collaboration with different Museum teams;

Developpe and coordinate, in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary comity, an action plan and to ensure its

implementation by different departments;

Act as an expert counsellor and facilitator in the development of a “visitor experience” reflex within all levels of the



Manage departmental budget (revenues and expenses) and oversee the compilation of statistics on attendance and

space rental revenues

Build a powerful professional network;

Maintain excellent business relations with partners, negotiate sponsorship benefits packages and make sure they

are properly delivered.

Validate and ensure partner satisfaction;

Recruit, manage, supervise and evaluate the employees under his responsibility

Assist the Director by performing other related duties.

Employment Conditions

Full-time and temporary position; one year contract; non-standard schedule including occasional work on evenings and weekends;

Salary according to the Museum’s salary ranges;

Qualifications and Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Tourism or Cultural Management;

Experience in customer service, staff management, partnership and client development;

Knowledge of Eudonet, Sugar (or other CRM system) and Office Suite, including Power Point and Excel;

Knowledge of English and French (written and oral communication skills);

Exceptional planning and organizational skills focused on reaching objectives;

Strong ability for analysis, synthesizing information and decision-making skills.

Familiarity with using data to present information and

marketing plans;

Creative and innovative approach, excellent team player and autonomous;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

; Organised and able to manage multiple tasks quickly and effectively;

Ability to work autonomously and under deadline pressures

Capacity to adapt to a dynamic and constant evolving environment.

Solution oriented and Negotiation skills;

Interest in culture.
